Messi, Mbappé, Haaland tops FIFA’s 2026 World Cup Best XI

FIFA has officially announced the fan-voted Best XI of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, celebrating the players who captivated supporters with their outstanding performances throughout the tournament.

The World Champions Spain lead the way with three players in the lineup. Runners-up Argentina have two representatives, while France also boast three players despite finishing third, highlighting the depth of talent on display during the competition.

One of the biggest talking points is the inclusion of Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, he became a fan favourite after producing a series of heroic displays that helped his nation reach the quarter-finals for the first time in World Cup history which earned him more fan votes than Golden Glove winner Unai Simón.

The defensive line features Spain’s Pedro Porro and Marc Cucurella alongside Argentina centre-back Lisandro Martínez and France’s Dayot Upamecano. The quartet impressed with their consistency, composure and defensive solidity throughout the tournament.

In midfield, Spain’s Rodri is joined by France’s Michael Olise and England star Jude Bellingham. Rodri once again dictated the tempo for the eventual champions, while Olise emerged as one of the breakout stars of the tournament. Bellingham’s all-action displays were instrumental in England’s run to the semi-finals.

The attacking trio is packed with global superstars. Lionel Messi makes the team after leading Argentina to a second consecutive World Cup final, despite an underwhelming performance in the showpiece against Spain. Norway’s Erling Haaland, who finished among the tournament’s top scorers, also earns a place, while France captain Kylian Mbappé rounds off the frontline after another outstanding World Cup campaign.
