Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games daily schedule in AEST



With 10 sports crammed into 10 full days of action in Glasgow, it may be hard to keep track of what’s on and when at the Commonwealth Games.

So, here’s the full schedule of every day of the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games with all times and days in AEST.

You can find the full official schedule here. Organisers say all schedule details are subject to change, depending on a number of criteria.

Day 0 (July 23-24)

Aussie watch:

  • There was not supposed to be any competition on Thursday before the opening ceremony, but an extra session of bowls and para bowls was added because of what organisers described as “unprecedented demand”.

Bowls (6:30pm to 1:25am)

Sectional play — Men’s singles, Women’s pairs, Para mixed pairs B2-B3.

Opening ceremony (5am, July 24)

Held at The Hydro at the Scottish Event Campus, which will also host the netball.

KT Tunstall is headlining and is joined by Tom Walker, Nina Nesbitt, Valtos, Callum Beattie, and Nathan Evans and Saint Phnx.

More than 600 volunteers are also performing.

Day 1 (July 24-25)

Aussie watch:

  • The first full day of competition and the first medals will be awarded early in the para powerlifting.
  • The swimmers hit the water with Lani Pallister a major favourite in the 400m freestyle at 4am, Australia’s youngest athlete in 14-year-old Mia Hogan swims in the S13 100m freestyle, and the night wraps up with the 4x100m freestyle relays (Australian women have won gold at every Commonwealth Games since 1998, the men have won the past four).
  • This is the only day of para powerlifting, featuring 2022 women’s bronze medallist Hani Watson in the women’s heavyweight category.

3×3 basketball/wheelchair basketball (7pm-6:30am)

The first day of group matches across men’s, women’s, women’s wheelchair and men’s wheelchair competition split across three sessions.

The Australian able-bodied men play New Zealand, Nigeria and hosts Scotland; the abled-bodied women play Kenya, Jamaica and Fiji; while both Australian wheelchair teams take on England.

Artistic gymnastics (7pm-6:15am)

Men’s team final and individual qualification.

Bowls (5:30pm-7:15am)

Boxing (8pm-6:45am)

Day 2 (July 25-26)

Aussie watch:

  • Australia starts its netball gold medal defence against Tonga, captained by Queenslander and former Firebirds mid-courter Hulita Veve.
  • Gymnast Georgia Godwin, a two-time gold medallist at Birmingham 2022, hits the Glasgow International Arena as she continues her comeback from a torn Achilles tendon. She will be joined by Emily Whitehead, Kate McDonald and Breanna Scott, who also won team silver four years ago, with 19-year-old Paris Olympian Ruby Pass the only new face in the squad.
  • Sam Short starts his packed schedule (200m, 400m, 800m and 1,500m) with the 400m heats and final, and Mollie O’Callaghan and Lani Pallister go in the women’s 200m freestyle.

  • The Diamonds face an early test, taking on 2018 gold medallists England from about 7:30pm.
  • World record holder Cam McEvoy hits the water for the 50m freestyle final, distance queen Lani Pallister returns for the 1,500m, and rising 17-year-old Sienna Toohey shoots for the first of three potential medals in Glasgow, in the women’s 100m breaststroke.
  • Georgia Godwin will be hoping to defend her 2022 individual all-around gold medal.

3×3 basketball/wheelchair basketball (8:30pm-6:15am)

Australian able-bodied men face Guyana and Cayman Islands; able-bodied women face Cayman Islands and Uganda, men’s wheelchair face Kenya; women’s wheelchair face South Africa.

Artistic gymnastics (9pm-6am)

Competitors for the men’s and women’s individual all-around finals are selected based on rankings from the team finals, with a maximum of two gymnasts from each country allowed.

The men’s individual all-around final runs from 9pm to midnight across floor, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar.

The women compete from 3am to 6am across floor, vault, uneven bars and beam.

  • The athletics program starts, marking the first of three days that feature swimming as well as track and field.
  • Australia’s much-hyped sprint stars hit the track in the men’s and women’s 100m heats. And, after silver in 2018 and bronze in 2022, Rhiannon Clarke tries to complete her set of Commonwealth medals with a gold in the women’s T37/38 100m final.
  • Mollie O’Callaghan, Shayna Jack and Meg Harris go for back-to-back podium sweeps for Australia in the women’s 100m freestyle.

3×3 basketball/wheelchair basketball (8:30pm-6:15am)

Australian men’s and women’s wheelchair teams take on Canada.

Artistic gymnastics (10pm-2:30am)

  • Kyle Chalmers aims for more gold in the men’s 100m freestyle, with Lani Pallister (800m freestyle), Mollie O’Callaghan (50m backstroke) and defending 200m breaststroke champion Zac Stubblety-Cook also in action.
  • The Diamonds take on Malawi in their third group game on Wednesday morning.

  • The swimming program wraps up with Lakeisha Patterson trying to equal her haul of three Paralympic gold medals with a third Commonwealth title in the women’s 100m S9 freestyle. And Sam Short completes his packed schedule with the men’s 200m and 1,500m freestyle finals on the same night.

  • The track cycling program begins, with the men’s team sprint potentially pitting Australians against former teammate Matthew Richardson, who controversially defected to England after the 2024 Paris Olympics.

  • Unlike other days, there will be athletics finals in the early and late sessions, with Australians in contention all day long at Scotstoun Stadium — Matt Denny in the discus, Kurtis Marschall in the pole vault, Mackenzie Little in the javelin, Jess Hull, Cam Myers and Co. in the miles, and the 4x100m relays are just a few of the events to keep an eye on.
  • Defending men’s individual sprint champion Matthew Richardson is set for another potential clash with his former Australian teammates after his defection to England. Jessica Gallagher tries to defend her women’s tandem 1,000m time trial gold medal.
  • Unless there’s an absolute calamity, the Diamonds will play their semifinal.

Early session (6pm-10pm): Women’s Elimination Race Qualification, Women’s Keirin — Round 1, Men’s 40km Point Race Qualification, Men’s C1-3 3000m Individual Pursuit Qualification, Men’s 1000m Time Trial Final, Women’s Keirin — Round 1 repechage

Late session (Midnight-2:45am): Women’s Elimination Race Final, Men’s C1-3 3000m Individual Pursuit Final, Women’s Keirin — Round 2, Women’s Keirin Final, Women’s C4-5 1000m Time Trial Final, Men’s 40km Point Race Final

Closing ceremony

Details about the closing ceremony are incredibly sparse, but the final events of the games (judo and track cycling) finish at 2:45am.

It will be at the Hydro and feature performances by Simple Minds, Sandi Thom, BEMZ, Cammy Barnes, Elephant Sessions and Shereen Cutkelvin.
