The World Cup final is nearly upon us, the culmination of more than a month of elite international football coming down to one game and one champion team.
Spain will face Argentina in the big game, Spain looking for its first men’s title since 2010 and Argentina hoping to go back to back in the tournament after winning in 2022.

When is the World Cup final?
The World Cup final will begin at 5am AEST on Monday, July 20.
That is 4:30am CST and 3am AWST.

The game will be broadcast live on SBS and streamed on SBS On Demand.

Who is playing in the World Cup final?
Spain and Argentina are the last two teams standing in this World Cup. They are set to face off in a World Cup final for the first time.
Spain beat tournament favourite France in their semifinal to reach the decider, while Argentina came from behind for a dramatic victory over England.
The Spanish have played disciplined and stylish football throughout the tournament, while Argentina has made a habit of dramatic surges and late comebacks inspired by the incredible Lionel Messi.

Where is the World Cup final?
The final will be played in New Jersey at what is known for this tournament as the New York New Jersey Stadium.
More than 80,000 people will be in attendance, including US President Donald Trump for the first time all tournament.
What about the World Cup final half-time show?
For the first time, the World Cup final will feature an extended half-time show not unlike those produced for the Super Bowl.
With performances from Shakira, Madonna, Justin Bieber, BTS and more, FIFA will be forced to extend the length of the half-time break well beyond the 15 minutes it mandates in its own guidelines.
There will also be a closing ceremony pre-game, at which Post Malone and Robbie Williams will perform and Tom Cruise will somehow be involved.
