WAFCON 2026: CAF announce new ways to watch in Africa and worldwide

CAF have announced where fans worldwide and in Africa can watch the biggest women’s football tournament in Africa, WAFCON 2026.

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has announced an expanded global broadcast plan for the 2026 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), adding CAF TV on YouTube in several international markets following widespread concerns from fans in the African diaspora who were unable to watch the opening matches of the tournament.

The move comes after supporters living outside Africa, particularly in Europe and other regions without dedicated broadcast partners, voiced frustrations on social media over the lack of access to live coverage during the opening round of fixtures. In response, CAF confirmed that its official YouTube channel, CAF TV, will stream matches in select territories to meet the growing international demand for the competition.

The expanded distribution is expected to make the tournament more accessible to millions of viewers as the newly expanded 16-team competition continues in Morocco.

Fans in the United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, China, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Turkey, Russia, Poland, Greece, the Balkans, Hong Kong, Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, the Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland), and the Indian subcontinent will now be able to watch WAFCON 2026 through CAF TV on YouTube.

CAF also confirmed additional broadcast agreements in several territories. DAZN will air every match across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, while Sport 5 will broadcast selected matches in Israel through to the final. Italian viewers will be able to watch the semi-finals and final on Sport Italia with Italian commentary, while Ziggo Sport Totaal will carry the semi-finals and final in the Netherlands.

CAF said more international broadcast partnerships will be announced as the tournament progresses.

How to watch WAFCON 2026 in Africa

Supporters across Sub-Saharan Africa will continue to watch every match live on SuperSport after CAF reached a broadcast agreement with CANAL+.

All 34 matches of the tournament are available to Access customers on DStv, DStv Stream, GOtv and GOtv Stream, ensuring widespread coverage across the continent.

The 2026 edition of WAFCON is the first to feature 16 teams, making it the largest tournament in the competition’s history. Morocco is hosting the championship across multiple venues, with teams competing not only for continental glory but also for a record winners’ prize of USD 2 million.

As the tournament progresses toward the knockout stages, CAF’s expanded broadcast strategy is expected to significantly increase global viewership and ensure fans around the world can follow African women’s football without geographic restrictions.
