Arlight, now we turn our attention to the minor semifinal between the West Coast Fever and Melbourne Mavericks in Perth.
Based purely on gut feeling and vibes, the Mavericks are the favourites here. They’ve won their last four games straight and are the surprise packed of the finals because they are so hungry anything could happen. You can see how much they want it.
The Fever, meanwhile, have had a bit of a dip in form in recent weeks, but they will take confidence after pulling off a significant 9-goal victory over the Vixens last week. They needed to win by at least 8 goals to secure a home semifinal. The target was set and they met that, so they’ll be brimming with self belief at home.
They were also in the grand final last year losing to the Vixens by just one goal, 59-58. They have had a few key roster changes since then. So it’ll be on their experienced players to try and coach the younger ones through the pressure of finals netball.
This is going to be a cracker!
