Live updates: Wests Tigers vs Manly Warringah Sea Eagles
Sat 16 May 2026 at 3:31pm
27′ Penalty Sea Eagles
The play of the ball is horrible by Olakau’atu, but the referee rules not clearing the ruck.
That’s a poor decision for mine – but the Tigers don’t challenge.
They will have to defend now though as Manly kick the ball towards half way.

23′ Try Tigers!
Good football from the Tigers.
Luai is key, passing to Taylan May who drags Saab out to him
The pass out to Luke Laulilii is good and he races to the line to score.
Lovely stuff from the Tigers, a set play that they are finally able to implement with the ball in a dangerous position.
There are a lot of empty seats at Lang Park at the moment, but most of those that are occupied appear to be occupied by Tigers fans, who roar their approval.
The kick is good and it’s 18-6!

22′ Penalty Tigers!
Now they have a chance to get into the Sea Eagles defensive zone.
Ethan Bullemor with a strip.
AND THEY TAKE IT QUICKLY!

Tigers defence is MIA
Arvo Simon. Did the Tigers defence miss the plane up to Brisbane?
– KB
With plane tickets as expensive as they are, no wonder they left half the team in Sydney.

18′ Tigers challenge a strip call
The Tigers are pinged for a strip but they are going to challenge it.
Latu Fainu has his hands near the ball but it doesn’t look like a strip.
The Bunker says it’s inconclusive so the Tigers keep their challenge, but it’s still a penalty.
Jarome Luai is fuming.

17′ Manly have another one!
This is getting very, very dangerous for the Tigers.
Luke Brooks moves the ball to the left side this time off the back of a scrum, to Tola Koula, who gets rid of it quickly to Lehi Hopoate, who races through to score.
That is so, so easy.
The kick is good and it’s 18-0.

16′ Patrick Herbert on report
Herbert with a dangerous tackle there.
Sat 16 May 2026 at 3:17pm
13′ Can’t stop Haumole Olakau’atu!
Oh my! Haumole
Olakau’atu just runs over Alex Seyfarth like he’s one of those inflatable tubes in a bouncy castle.

Goodness me.
The Sea Eagles could be in again through Lehi Hopoate but he’s stopped by Heath Mason – a try saver – and then loses the ball.
Tigers survive. Just.

12′ Penalty Sea Eagles, May on report
Terrell May gets a bit enthusiastic off the kick off and lands a shoulder onto the head of the Manly ball-carrier.
May is on report too.
Tigers are unravelling.
Sat 16 May 2026 at 3:12pm
10′ Saab goes 60 metres!
Oh boy, Tigers fans may want to creep back under their bedclothes and pretend this isn’t happening.
More woeful defence from the Tigers, Brooks fending off one to pass to Garrick, who fended off another to pass the ball to Saab on the edge 60 metres from the tryline.
He’s such a long way out that it shouldn’t be an issue, but this is the Tigers defence and they capitulate again – Saab tiptoeing down the line and fending off two, out-pacing another to score under the posts.
Horrible for the Tigers.
The lead is 12-0.

8′ Forward pass saves Tigers blushes
The Tigers were on the back foot again there.
The Sea Eagles are just carving through some absolutely horrid defence from the Tigers.
Brooks got the ball and moved to the right edge this time, looking for Reuben Garrick on the outside.
But Haumole Olakau’atu was in the way and stuck an arm out, the ball deflecting off his giant paw forwards denying Manly another try.

4′ Manly score the opener!

Tolutau Koula crosses for the first try of Super Saturday!
Taylan May kicked the ball limply on the last for the Tigers.
Luke Brooks mopped up, skipped past a tackle and passed out to Koula on the left wing.
Koula, from inside his own half, just skipped past five pathetic tackle attempts from the Tigers defence, which parted like the Red Sea, to score under the posts.
Wow, that was horrible defence from the Tigers.
The kick is good and it’s 6-0.
Sat 16 May 2026 at 3:00pm
1′ We’re underway in the first game
The Tigers kick off towards the Caxton Street end, and Manly in their predominantly white jersey’s bring it back.

Dinner on the line as Foran and Marshall meet as coaches for first time
Benji Marshall and Kieran Foran were having a long chat on the field about an hour or so ago.
The two men would have been coming up against each other on the field not too long ago, but now they’re going to lock horns in the coaching box.
“It’s very exciting to come up against Benji,” Foran just told Fox Sports.
“We just caught up on the field … I think he said whoever loses shouts dinner tonight.
“I have all the admiration in the world for Benji and what he’s done with the Tigers.
“I’m inspired to follow in his footsteps.”
Looks like there’s a lot at steak tonight then for the two former Kiwi internationals…

Welcome, welcome
Hello Simon, Happy Magic Round! Should be a couple of good games to kick off Saturday. I’ve gone Manly and Chooks in the first couple and Storm to continue their winning streak of 1 tonight…
– Mike
Far be it for me to agree with you, Mike, but I feel the same way.
Manly’s biggest risk will be to not fall into a trap of thinking this game will be easy.

Walsh will still play big role for Sea Eagles
– AAP

Jamal Fogarty may be ready and roaring to make his Manly return – which he will do today – but coach Kieran Foran says teenage sensation Joey Walsh will still play an integral part in Manly’s push for the NRL finals.
The 32-year-old’s inclusion has relegated Walsh to the bench after showing glimpses of his glittering potential across the past two games for Manly.
The strong performances came after Foran initially followed in ex-Manly coach Anthony Seibold’s footsteps to keep the 19-year-old developing in the NSW Cup.
“Everyone’s seen just what this guy is capable of, and we’ve made no secret about how excited we are about Joey’s future,” Foran said on Friday.
“We’re just going to keep building on what he’s done for us. He’s going to play an integral part in our season this year and for many more years to come.
“It’s a great headache to have as a coach. You’ve got another half ready to go, and putting pressure on these two guys now for the rest of the season.”
Fogarty was tipped to return for last Saturday’s 32-4 thumping of Brisbane, but was given the extra week off, and Foran believes it did him a world of good.
