Nanette Reveals Tracklist For “Painfully Happy” Deluxe. Nanette has officially revealed the full tracklist for her upcoming Painfully Happy DELUXE, offering fans a closer look at a project that continues her deeply personal approach to songwriting.

The announcement carried a heartfelt message of gratitude that reflected the spirit behind the project. Nanette thanked everyone who contributed to the album before expressing appreciation to God, writing, “Thank you to everyone who made this project possible, and most importantly, thank you, almighty God. Use my gifts to change lives please Lord.”
The accompanying artwork reinforces the emotional themes that have become central to Nanette‘s music. Set in a dimly lit room featuring an ornate mirror and a chessboard, the image conveys reflection, vulnerability and quiet resilience. It also builds on the atmosphere established by the original Painfully Happy EP, which surpassed two million streams and earned widespread praise following its 2025 release.

Fans will recognise several songs from the original project, including “Baggage,” produced by Grammy-winning producer Andre Harris, and “Ask for Nun,” a raw one-take freestyle that Nanette previously described as a vulnerable plea for unconditional love.
The expanded release continues the emotional storytelling that has defined the singer’s growing catalogue. Songs such as “Suddenly,” “Abazali” and “JJK” revisit themes of love, identity and empowerment, while new additions including “Money can’t save me,” “How much can you take” and “Little light” suggest an even deeper exploration of healing, heartbreak and hope.
Nanette’s latest announcement also reflects the faith that continues to shape her artistic journey. Rather than presenting the album solely as a musical release, she frames it as a project with the potential to inspire and encourage listeners navigating their own experiences.
Her rise within South Africa’s music scene has been marked by notable milestones, including recognition through Apple Music’s ALPHA programme, selection as one of Spotify’s Ones to Watch artists and the opportunity to open for British R&B star Ella Mai. Blending contemporary R&B with Amapiano influences and elements of her Zulu heritage, Nanette has steadily built a reputation for honest songwriting and emotionally rich performances.
With excitement continuing to grow, Painfully Happy DELUXE is shaping up to be another defining moment in Nanette’s career. The project promises to expand on the emotional world she introduced with the original release, offering listeners a soundtrack that embraces both life’s painful moments and its joyful victories. The deluxe will make its way to DSPs on July 23 2026.
