Maglera Doe Boy Champions Puma Suede Legacy In Bold New Campaign. Maglera Doe Boy is once again blurring the lines between music, fashion and storytelling with the launch of Republic of Suede Africa, a vibrant new campaign celebrating the enduring legacy of the iconic Puma Suede sneaker in South African culture.

The award-winning rapper and creative shared the campaign on Instagram alongside a caption that perfectly captures its spirit.
“Whether we getting ready to look fly. Outside with our friends in the streets or in the studio cooking on these beats. The shoes is manufactured but self-made. Never not Seude. My shoe will be the OG Puma Suede. 🏆”
Produced by @sohoproductions.tv, the campaign follows Maglera through familiar South African settings, from lively streets to recording studios, presenting the Puma Suede as more than just a classic sneaker. Instead, it is portrayed as a symbol of ambition, authenticity and the journey of people who carve out their own success.
The visual production was brought to life by an accomplished local creative team. Hlogi Masipa directed, shot and edited the campaign, while Maglera himself served as Creative Producer and Co-Director alongside producer Thato Phofu. The wider production featured a strong lineup of South African talent across cinematography, sound, styling, art direction and photography, highlighting the collaborative spirit behind the project.
Adding to its authenticity, the campaign stars Maglera alongside friends and fellow creatives, including Thabang Diswane, Zee Nxumalo and SAI HLE, while everyday community figures such as a barber, taxi driver and studio engineer also make appearances. The choice of locations and cast reinforces the campaign’s celebration of ordinary South Africans who shape the country’s creative identity.
For decades, the Puma Suede has occupied a special place in global streetwear and hip hop. In South Africa, the sneaker has become closely associated with township fashion, youth culture and artistic expression. Through the fictional concept of the Republic of Suede Africa, Maglera reimagines that legacy by turning the sneaker into a badge of pride for creators, dreamers and self-made individuals.
The campaign has already generated excitement online, with fans praising both its cinematic visuals and its strong cultural message. Many have also viewed it as another example of Maglera’s ability to merge music, fashion and visual art into a single creative statement.
As his influence continues to grow beyond music, Republic of Suede Africa further cements Maglera Doe Boy’s reputation as not only one of South Africa’s most distinctive rappers but also one of its most innovative creative directors and cultural tastemakers.
With the declaration to be “Never not Seude,” Maglera has turned a legendary sneaker into a celebration of South African style, identity and self-belief, while hinting that more collaborations with the Puma family could be on the horizon.
