Lamine Yamal has been named the La Liga Player of the Season for 2025/26 after a sensational campaign that helped FC Barcelona retain the league title.
The 18-year-old winger was one of the standout performers in Spanish football, finishing the season with 16 league goals and 11 assists, while also ending the campaign as La Liga’s leading assist provider.
Yamal was a key figure in Barcelona’s title-winning season, which went far beyond statistics. The teenager’s creativity, dribbling ability, and consistency made him one of the most decisive players in the division, earning him widespread recognition as one of the world’s brightest talents.
He also became the first player to win La Liga’s Player of the Month award three times in a single season, underlining his dominance throughout the campaign. The award caps another remarkable year for the Spanish international, who continues to break records despite his young age.
Barcelona’s success was further reflected in the end-of-season honours, with Hansi Flick being named Coach of the Year, while goalkeeper Joan GarcÃa also collected individual accolades.
With the 2026 World Cup approaching, Yamal heads into the tournament as one of football’s biggest stars and a leading contender for several major individual awards.
