Hero Ahmed Al Ahmed allegedly extorted by brothers Hozifa and Sameh

Bondi Beach terror attack hero Ahmed Al Ahmed has allegedly received violent threats from his own family trying to get money out of him.
Hozifa and Sameh Al Ahmed faced a Sydney court today accused of trying to extort $200,000 from their brother.

Ahmed received more than $2.5 million from an online fundraiser after he was hurt intervening in the antisemitic terror attack that killed 15 people in December.

He was filmed wrestling a weapon from gunman Sajid Akram, made international headlines for his bravery but was shot in the process and left with considerable injuries.

Now his own brothers are accused of making threatening phone calls to him earlier this month.

“I will put your head under my boot, break your other arm, and smash your face. We will only leave if you give us $100,000 each,” Hozifa allegedly said on May 7.

This morning, the pair pleaded not guilty to using a carriage service to harass. They’re expected back in court in July.

Accused terrorist Naveed Akram and his father, Sajid, opened fire during Hanukkah celebrations at Bondi Beach on December 14.

Fifteen people were killed, including a 10-year-old girl, and 40 people were injured, while Sajid Akram was shot dead by police.

Footage from the moment showed Ahmed leaping out from behind some cars and tackling Akram, snatching his gun away from him and pointing it back at him.

The interim report handed down last month found authorities could not have prevented the horror mass shooting but major improvements should be made to Australia’s counter-terrorism capability.
