Organisers have given us a few details about what to expect from tonight’s show, which will be a celebration of everything Scotland and Glasgow.
The humour, culture and “small but mighty” spirit of the country that gave us William Wallace, Danny Bhoy and Ronnie Corbett is the sort of thing you’d expect.
But the show will be heavily themed around nature and the green spaces that litter Glasgow, flying in the face of its status as an industrial centre and slightly ironic for the first opening ceremony held indoors.
The ceremony will be populated largely by over 600 volunteers in a display of community that the city prides itself on, and we have experienced first-hand over the past few days everywhere we’ve gone.
Oh, and if you don’t like bagpipes, the blog is the right place to be because the show itself will be littered with them.
I for one cannae wait.
