About Biscoff Ladoos

Biscoff cookies, also known as Speculoos are spiced cookies originated from Belgium. They are often served with coffee and can be used to make many desserts which includes puddings, cheesecakes, cakes etc. I tried these ladoos and it was an instant hit at home so thought to share it here.

Biscoff Ladoo is a fusion dessert that combines the traditional Indian ladoo with the the flavour of crunchy biscoff cookies. If you are looking for a last minute dessert or festive sweet or a unique dessert for a party or get together then this is perfect for you.

Ladoos are my favorite and this fusion ladoo has become my recent addiction. Trust me I am not a fan of biscoff cookies but these ladoos were so delicious that I could not stop with one. The only fact that stopped me from gulping was to reserve them for kids.

Biscoff Ladoo Ingredients

  • Biscoff Cookies – This is the main ingredient for these ladoos. I would not recommend any other biscuits for this as replacement.
  • Desiccated Coconut – This is added to add a structure to these ladoos. Use fine desiccated coconut for this.
  • Condensed milk – This adds sweetness to the ladoos and added to bind the mixture.
  • Milk – I used regular milk. It is added to bind everything together.
  • Ghee – Adds great flavour and richness. You can replace it with coconut oil too.

Expert Tips

  • Biscuit crumbs – Pulse the biscuits until finely ground for smooth, even shaped ladoos. If it is too coarse the ladoos won’t hold shape well.
  • Sweetener – Adjust condensed milk according to the sweetness of the biscuits.
  • Shaping – Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon measure to make ladoos of equal size.
  • Coating options – Roll the ladoos in crushed biscoff biscuits or desiccated coconut, or finely chopped nuts for extra crunch.
  • Make ahead – These ladoos taste even better after a few hours in the refrigerator.

Serving and Storage

Store in a clean airtight container in the refrigerator. As it has milk, it needs to be refrigerated to extend shelf life. You can enjoy it with evening snacks and coffee. This ladoo keeps well in fridge for about a week.

FAQS

1.Why is my ladoo mixture too dry?

The biscuit crumbs may have absorbed more moisture than expected. Add little more milk, one teaspoon at a time, until the mixture comes together easily.

2. Why is the mixture too sticky?

If the mixture is sticky, add a few more biscuit crumbs or refrigerate it for 10-15 minutes before shaping

3.Can I add nuts?

Absolutely. Chopped almonds, pistachios, walnuts, or cashews add a delicious crunch and pair well with the caramelized biscoff flavour.

4.Can I freeze Biscoff Ladoos?

Yes, they freeze well for up to 1 month. Thaw in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.

5.How long do Biscoff Ladoos last?

Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Refrigeration is must for these ladoos for extended shelf life.
