An alleged triple killer’s phone call with emergency services moments before his wife and two children were found dead in their Sydney home has been revealed.
Police called to what they allege was a “particularly violent scene” in Campbelltown on Monday night found the bodies of a 46-year-old woman and two children, aged 12 and four, inside a home.
The alleged killer is understood to be the father and husband, who was the full-time carer for the children, who both had severe autism.
The family moved to Sydney from Bangladesh about 10 years ago and the mother worked full-time.
The father, with no criminal history, reportedly called police just before 8pm, moments after the alleged murders.
“I kill my family,” he allegedly told them.
Last night it was revealed that police documents allege the man had been plotting the murders for months.
That plan allegedly began following the news of a double murder-suicide in Perth earlier this year, when two teenage boys, who both lived with severe autism, were killed by their parents.
A former co-worker told 9News he spoke with the alleged killer recently, saying he was battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
“He was always proud of his wife and his son, and he was just very happy,” he said.
The father is facing three murder charges and will remain behind bars until at least his next court appearance in July.
His lawyer told 9News he is innocent until proven guilty.
A small makeshift memorial has grown outside the south-west Sydney home as the community continues to grapple with the tragedy.
