The highly anticipated project is set to arrive on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
The Pretoria rapper shared the news in his signature understated style, posting, “Amehlo by Tyson Sybateli. Album releasing 22 September, Tuesday,” before expressing appreciation to the collaborators he referred to as his “featured coworkers.”
Joining Tyson Sybateli on the album are Thato Saul, Filah Lah Lah, Tron Pyre, Buzzi Lee and Marcus Harvey, bringing together a diverse mix of rap, soulful melodies and forward-thinking production that hints at a project with plenty of sonic variety.
The album’s title, Amehlo, translates to “eyes” in Zulu, suggesting themes of awareness, perception and reflection. Those ideas have already started to emerge through the album’s lead material, particularly the recently released single “Company Party.” The punk-inspired fusion track uses surreal office imagery and corporate symbolism to explore modern work culture, identity and the pressures of contemporary life. Its accompanying visuals further reinforce that concept with dreamlike workplace scenes and video call-inspired aesthetics.
Amehlo also marks the second instalment in Sybateli’s planned album trilogy. While his previous releases, including Home and the mixtape Present, focused on personal experiences, memory and self-discovery, the upcoming record appears to broaden its perspective by examining the systems and environments that influence everyday life.
