150 for Tom Starling

Raiders hooker Tom Starling will play his 150th game for the club today, a superb achievement.
His coach Ricky Stuart, could not have delivered any bigger praise than what he said earlier this week.
“He’s got a heart bigger than anybody and realistically he’s our spiritual leader,” Stuart said on Friday.
Fine praise indeed.
And he has got plenty of support from his contemporaries too.

Team news: Raiders vs Rabbitohs
Here’s the team news for the first NRL game of the day.

Raiders
There has been a late switch in the pack as Ata Mariota starts with Corey Horsburgh going to the bench.
No other late changes, with Origin duo Ethan Strange and Hudson Young returning to the starting side.
There is still no space for Seb Kris who will miss one more week with a hamstring injury.
Savelio Tamale comes back onto the bench after a week in NSW Cup.
Rabbitohs
No late changes for the Bunnies, as Cody Walker comes back from his one-match ban in the halves, partnering Ashton Ward.
Alex Johnston returns from a calf injury and replaces Dayne Jennings, who will spend some time on the injury list with a nasty gash from last week.
Euan Aitken was ill last week against Newcastle, and failed to finish the match, but has recovered to start in the back row.

Roosters win a tight one in Canberra

The first match in the NRLW is done and dusted, and it resulted in a tight and tense win for the Roosters over the Raiders.
The Raiders did lead the Roosters 14-4 at one stage thanks to tries to Bobbi Law, Sheridan Gallagher and Jordyn Preston.
However, Zahara Temara could only kick one of her attempts at goal, something that came back to bite the hosts.
Sariah Paki, Tarryn Aiken and Jayme Fressard all scored, with Jocelyn Kelleher kicking all three conversions to come from behind to seal the win, their first in Canberra since 2020.

Good afternoon folks
Hello everyone and welcome to a busy Saturday of rugby league as we bring you live updates from Round 20 of the NRL Premiership season and the scores from Round 3 of the NRL Women’s Premiership campaign.
My name is Simon Smale and I will be your eyes and ears today as we enjoy a couple of very solid matches with implications across the top eight of the competition, as well as something of a grudge match between two teams at the wrong end of the ladder to finish.
The teams are in for our first NRL match of the day and the first NRLW match of the afternoon has just concluded, so let’s get straight into it, shall we?
