Sensational effort by KL Iro to score

Braydon Trindall rolls in a grubber and the Dolphins appear to have it covered through Trai Fuller and Jamayne Isaako, but KL Iro muscles between the pair and manages to pull off a stunning grounding while completely horizontal on the dive.

There’s a bit of a question over the grounding, but the bunker confirms the on-field try call.

Oregon Kaufusi slams down the first try

Blayke Brailey drifts out of dummy half close to the line and fires a ball to Oregon Kaufusi.

He hits Morgan Knowles before Francis Molo, Trai Fuller and Tom Flegler arrive, but they’re still not enough to stop him from scoring in exactly the same sort of position the Flegler missed out at the other end.

15′ Flegler crashes over, but it’s another no try

Pure power from big Tom Flegler as he drags three Sharks over the tryline, but Billy Burns is able to do enough to force the ball loose just over the line.

11′ Cronulla struggling to capitalise

The Dolphins have dropped the ball a couple of times coming out of their own territory, but the Sharks aren’t able to make them pay.

Meanwhile, any time the Phins get to the end of their sets, they’re pinning the Sharks deep in their half.

5′ Jamayne Isaako isn’t happy

Jamayne Isaako takes a hard run back and appears to be stripped in the tackle by Braydon Trindall and KL Iro, but the referee says he lost it cold.

As the Sharks threaten down the right, Herbie Farnworth and Tevita Naufahu back up Isaako’s error as they dump Jesse Ramien into touch.

3′ Will Kennedy crosses, but Todd Smith thinks it’s a double movement

On the back of the first penalty and set restart of the game, the Sharks are surging and Will Kennedy thinks he’s scored, but it’s pretty obviously a double movement.

That’s a sensational tackle by Trai Fuller.

For the Dolphins, backs Selwyn Cobbo, Jack Bostock and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow aren’t backing up from Origin III, but middle forwards Max Plath and Tom Flegler will.

For the Sharks, Briton Nikora is missing, while Blayke Brailey starts and Addin Fonua-Blake is tacked onto the bench in jersey number 23.

Tigers go 2-0 with NRLW win over Cowboys

Another impressive outing by halfback Raecene McGregor has led the Tigers to a second straight win to start the NRLW season.

Backing up her brilliance against the Eels in round one, McGregor was again instrumental in the Tigers’ 30-18 victory over the Cowboys in Townsville.

Meanwhile, playmaker Faythe Manera nabbed a hat-trick as the Tigers jumped out to a big lead before the Cowboys threatened a comeback with three tries in 12 minutes between the 52nd and 64th minutes.

But Shaylee Bent’s final four-pointer, and McGregor’s perfect 5/5 day from the kicking tee, kept the Tigers out of reach.
