Da L.E.S Questions Deluxe Albums Following Yanga Chief’s Latest Release

Da L.E.S Questions Deluxe Albums Following Yanga Chief’s Latest Release. Da L.E.S has shared his thoughts on the growing trend of deluxe album releases following the arrival of Yanga Chief’s newly released Lord Faku: The Life Of A Dyan (Deluxe).

Da L.E.S Questions Deluxe Albums Following Yanga Chief’s Latest Release

Speaking candidly about the project, Da L.E.S admitted that he has not yet explored the deluxe edition in depth, but used the opportunity to question the concept of deluxe albums altogether.

“I don’t know too much about the deluxe,” he said before revealing that he is generally not a fan of the format.

The veteran rapper suggested that artists should focus on creating entirely new bodies of work rather than revisiting existing projects with expanded editions.

“Why don’t you just move on?” Da L.E.S remarked. “Maybe you just did the first one, move on. Start with a new name, and it’s a new project.”

His comments add to an ongoing debate within the music industry about the value of deluxe releases. While many artists use deluxe editions to extend the lifespan of successful albums, boost streaming numbers and offer fans additional content, critics like Da L.E.S argue that the approach can sometimes feel repetitive when compared to releasing a completely new project.

Yanga Chief’s Lord Faku: The Life Of A Dyan (Deluxe) arrives as an extension of the original album, giving listeners more material from the acclaimed rapper. However, Da L.E.S’s perspective reflects a school of thought that favours artistic progression and fresh concepts over expanded re-releases.

Despite his reservations about deluxe albums, Da L.E.S made it clear that his comments were directed at the format itself rather than Yanga Chief’s music, noting that he had not yet fully engaged with the project.
